CVBL: Philadelphia Over Cleveland
Cleveland failed to make the most of their chances, coming up short 91-81 against Philadelphia in today's contest. "They got a gift, no question in my mind," grumbled Cleveland coach Bob. "We outplayed them today, but just couldn't come up with the big plays when we were threatening to score. I just can't wait until the rematch; we'll show them who's really the best."
Philadelphia coach Bob saw things a little differently. "I'm proud of our defensive effort today. They avoided giving up the big plays, and really came through in the key situations. Bob may blame his offense, but they'd have been able to score if they didn't have good opposition."
Philadelphia was led by Wilson (8 points, 5 boards, 9 assists, 2 steals), Austin (11 points, 4 assists, 3 steals), Blunt (15 points, 6 boards, 2 assists, 2 blocks). Cleveland was led by Stancil (16 points, 7 boards, 1 assists, 3 blocks), Torres (18 points, 6 boards, 1 assists), Martin (18 points, 0 assists, a steal).
Philadelphia stand at 11-6 and 7-2 at home. They stay at #3 in the Atlantic and stay at #5 overall in the Eastern Conference. Cleveland drop to 8-9. They hold at #3 in the Central and stay at #9 overall in the Eastern Conference.
