CVBL: Detroit Teaches Golden State a Lesson
Lots of preparation paid off this evening, as Detroit blew past Golden State 106-73. "Coach did a great job for this one," said Detroit star Gilliam. "He really studied Golden State, figured out their tendencies, and gave us one heck of a game plan. I think we're almost getting spoiled with his great work - every game we go out there knowing exactly what our opponent is going to try. We don't always get blowouts like this, but we are always the better-prepared team."
Detroit was led by Gilliam (20 points, 3 blocks), Shaw (14 points, 5 assists, 2 steals, a block), Henderson (9 points, 13 boards, 1 assists, 2 blocks). Golden State was led by Adkins (10 points, 6 boards, 0 assists, a steal, a block), Hunter (8 points, 8 boards, 0 assists, a steal), Simmons (12 points, 5 boards, 0 assists).
Detroit remain unbeaten and are now 17-0 and 9-0 at home. They hold at #1 in the Central and remain at #1 overall in the Eastern Conference. Golden State drop to 6-10 with today's loss. They hold at #4 in the Pacific and stay at #11 overall in the Western Conference.
