CVBL: Memphis Can't Be Stopped
Not that anybody expected today's Memphis-Orlando matchup to be terribly competitive, but this was almost comical. The 116-74 final score was enough of a headline, but the game wasn't even as close as that score indicated as Memphis coach Bob played it conservative most of the game to avoid running up the score too much. "Boy, it's great to see our offense click like that," he said. "It's like a gourmet restaurant - everything on the menu looked good." Said losing coach Bob, "We were just outclassed, no question. We don't have the talent they do, and we weren't as prepared coming in. And it was definitely classy of Bob to pull his key players halfway through the game."
Memphis was led by Sigler (14 points, 8 boards, 1 assists, a steal, 5 blocks), Williams (21 points, 5 boards, 0 assists, 2 blocks), Maxwell (20 points, 1 assists). Orlando was led by Dixon (13 points, 7 boards, 0 assists, 2 blocks), Carey (16 points), Buchanan (16 points).
Memphis improve to 13-3. They remain at #1 in the Southwest and stay at #2 overall in the Western Conference. Orlando stand at 9-10 and 7-2 at home after this loss. They fall to #3 in the Southeast and move down to #6 overall in the Eastern Conference.
