CVBL: Philadelphia Wins Over New Orleans 104-88
Everything clicked for Philadelphia today, as they soundly beat New Orleans 104-88. New Orleans looked beaten for most of the afternoon, and the final outcome was in little doubt. "I thought we came out ready to play, but we were just overmatched," said New Orleans coach Bob. "It's kind of demoralizing to lose that way, knowing that you played your best and it wasn't nearly enough." Bob now has the unenviable task of getting his team ready to face another day.
Philadelphia coach Bob couldn't be happier, though. His game plan was executed perfectly, and his players were able to dominate all aspects of the game. "It's great to get a win like this, when everything went according to plan."
Philadelphia was led by Phelan (31 points, 4 assists, a steal), Rogers (5 points, 17 boards, 1 assists, a steal, 3 blocks), Thompson (19 points, 1 assists, 2 blocks). New Orleans was led by Ortega (16 points, 6 boards, 0 assists, a steal, a block), Forde (14 points, 5 boards, 0 assists, a block), Jordan (20 points).
After the victory, Philadelphia stand at 8-8. They hold at #4 in the Atlantic and advance to #7 overall in the Eastern Conference. New Orleans drop to 7-8 and 5-3 at home with this loss. They fall to #4 in the Southwest and move down to #11 overall in the Western Conference.
