CVBL: Minnesota Unstoppable
The Charlotte coach and players looked bewildered today, as they were steamrolled 94-68 by Minnesota. "I'm not sure they knew what hit them," said Minnesota coach Bob. "It didn't really seem like they came out with much of a plan, instead playing like a pickup team. I hate to criticize [Charlotte coach] Bob, but I don't think he did his job preparing for this game."
That has been an increasingly frequent impression in Charlotte games, leading many supporters to call for the coach's head. The players tend to avoid the matter, but today was the final straw for Charlotte star Morse. "We couldn't believe what we were hearing in practices. Stuff like, 'just go out and do your best and good things will happen.' He didn't show us any film of Minnesota, and we really came out today with no idea what to expect. I try to be a team player and all, but when the coach isn't doing his job, we're not going to win."
Minnesota was led by Daniels (15 points, 16 boards, 2 assists, 3 steals, 3 blocks), Dirks (10 points, 9 assists, 2 steals), Lundy (20 points). Charlotte was led by Morse (16 points, a block), Gonzalez (6 points, 12 boards, 0 assists), Murphy (6 points, 9 boards, 0 assists, 2 steals).
Minnesota improve to 12-6. They remain at #2 in the Northwest and remain at #6 overall in the Western Conference. Charlotte fall to 8-10 and 6-5 at home with this defeat. They stay at #2 in the Southeast and move down to #6 overall in the Eastern Conference.
