CVBL: Minnesota Breaks out Whoopin' Stick
Lots of preparation paid off this evening, as Minnesota blew past Oklahoma Cty 114-87. "Coach did a great job for this one," said Minnesota star Fernandez. "He really studied Oklahoma Cty, figured out their tendencies, and gave us one heck of a game plan. I think we're almost getting spoiled with his great work - every game we go out there knowing exactly what our opponent is going to try. We don't always get blowouts like this, but we are always the better-prepared team."
Minnesota was led by Fernandez (10 points, 7 boards, 3 assists, a steal, 2 blocks), Mykytiuk (18 points, 5 boards, 0 assists), Cook (21 points). Oklahoma Cty was led by Parker (10 points, 14 boards, 4 assists, 3 blocks), Brown (13 points, 3 steals), Buford (9 points, 8 boards, 0 assists).
Minnesota improve to 11-6 and 8-1 at home with the victory. They remain at #2 in the Northwest and stay at #4 overall in the Western Conference. Oklahoma Cty fall to 7-14. They remain at #5 in the Northwest and hold at #13 overall in the Western Conference.
