CVBL: New York Upends San Antonio
New York fans watched in amazement, as their team was dominated throughout the game but came away with the 105-98 upset of San Antonio. A frustrated San Antonio coach Bob was interviewed after the game. "I kept thinking that we'd be able to come back and pull out the win. I mean we did everything right and controlled the flow of the game, but ended up just short countless times. Even as things wound down I was confident because we were so dominant out there. But eventually I saw that the better team wasn't going to get the win today."
New York coach Bob agreed. "I've been on the other end of this plenty of times, too. It's frustrating to watch when you've clearly got the better team out there but can't get the win. As for today, we'll consider ourselves lucky and be more than happy to get the win."
New York was led by Dillard (14 points, 13 boards, 3 assists, a steal, 2 blocks), Speight (12 points, 2 steals), Olson (21 points, 0 assists, a steal). San Antonio was led by Thompson (19 points, 6 boards, 2 assists, a steal, 2 blocks), Freeman (26 points, a block), Meyers (13 points, 7 boards, 0 assists, 2 steals).
