CVBL: Philadelphia Pulls Out Win Over Phoenix 110-103
A solid outing by Wilson led Philadelphia to a 110-103 win over Phoenix. "Take away Wilson, and we'd have won this thing," said Phoenix coach Bob. "It was a very close game most of the way, and he was the one that put Philadelphia over the top. I thought we had the right game plan and executed well. What's sad is that I don't know what we'd do differently next time, except for hoping for a more mortal performance by him."
Philadelphia coach Bob was happy for the win, but concerned about the team's play. "I didn't think this was a very good team win. Our players seemed tempted to sit around and watch Wilson do his stuff. That was enough for the win today, but on another day maybe Wilson will be injured or our opponents can counter him, and we'll need the rest of the players to step up as well."
Philadelphia was led by Wilson (7 points, 14 assists, 2 steals), Austin (29 points, a steal), Blunt (18 points, 15 boards, 1 assists). Phoenix was led by Celaya (31 points, a steal, 3 blocks), Dupree (19 points, 18 boards, 0 assists, 2 blocks), Fripp (14 points, 1 assists, a steal, a block).
Philadelphia are now 17-8 and 12-2 at home. They stay at #3 in the Atlantic and hold at #5 overall in the Eastern Conference. After this defeat, Phoenix fall to 14-11. They stay at #3 in the Pacific and move down to #8 overall in the Western Conference.
