CVBL: New Orleans Dominant in Win Over Boston
Jones scored 40 points, helping New Orleans to brush past an overmatched Boston team today 114-92. Always politically correct, New Orleans coach Bob stated simply "We just managed to do what we needed to get done out there. The players had solid execution all around, and Jones's effort helped set the pace. Boston is a team we've had success against in the past, which I think gave us a bit more confidence coming in."
Boston coach Bob was a little more frank. "We knew going in that we'd need a miracle to beat New Orleans, and we didn't get it. They have better players and a better coach, and did what they were supposed to do out there. I'm just glad the final score wasn't even worse."
New Orleans was led by Jones (40 points, 5 boards, 2 assists, 2 blocks), Haines (13 points, 10 boards, 3 assists, 3 blocks), Williams (22 points, a steal, a block). Boston was led by Murphy (8 points, 12 boards, 0 assists, 2 steals, 4 blocks), Woodard (15 points, 3 assists), Owens (11 points, a block).
