CVBL: Milwaukee Beats Chicago 105-95
Thomas went on fire for 44 points, as he led Milwaukee to a 105-95 win over Chicago. The game lived up to its hype, with both teams having their moments but neither side able to dominate for any extended length of time. Said Thomas after the game, "This one could have easily gone either way. We're just glad that we came out with the win." Coach Bob echoed the sentiments, saying "Chicago came out strong and ready to play, and we knew from the start that it would be a battle out there. Probably if we played them 10 times, both sides would get five wins. But we got the win today, and that's what counts."
Chicago players were disappointed after the game, and coach Bob had his hands full keeping their spirits up. "They know they played their hearts out today, and that it wasn't enough. That's a tough feeling. Especially for Meyers, who had one heck of a game but couldn't carry the whole team on his shoulders."
Milwaukee was led by Thomas (44 points, 6 boards, 0 assists, a steal), Martinez (6 points, 5 boards, 16 assists, 3 steals, a block), Jaramillo (15 points, 8 boards, 0 assists, 3 blocks). Chicago was led by Meyers (29 points, 6 boards, 2 assists, a steal, 3 blocks), Wilson (12 points, a steal), Sigler (17 points, 6 boards, 1 assists, 2 blocks).
Milwaukee extended their winning streak 5 games and jump to 22-2. They remain at #1 in the Central and stay at #1 overall in the Eastern Conference. Chicago drop to 18-7 and 13-2 at home. They stay at #2 in the Central and stay at #4 overall in the Eastern Conference.
