CVBL: Utah 87, Phoenix 79
Utah beat Phoenix today in a 87-79 game that was close the whole way. For much of the game, it looked like Phoenix would be able to pull off the win, thanks in large part to an outstanding performance by Celaya. But the tide finally turned in the end, with Utah star Robinson leading his team to victory.
"Definitely a great game," said Utah coach Coach Young after the game. "The fans got their money's worth out of it, and both teams put up a good fight. We're just glad that we were able to finish strong and get the W. Robinson was a big part of that, and I don't think we'd have won without his efforts."
Utah was led by Robinson (27 points, 1 assists, a steal, a block), Perkins (12 points), Fedak (7 points, 7 assists). Phoenix was led by Celaya (17 points, 3 assists, 2 steals, a block), Dupree (21 points, 0 assists), Fripp (14 points).
Utah improve to 20-5 with today's win. They stay at #1 in the Northwest and stay at #3 overall in the Western Conference. After this loss, Phoenix drop to 13-13 and 7-4 at home. They remain at #3 in the Pacific and stay at #9 overall in the Western Conference.
