CVBL: Portland Unstoppable
San Antonio suffered another humiliating defeat today, with the 126-98 loss to Portland increasing calls for coach Bob's dismissal. It's looking to be a tough season for the embattled coach, who simply hasn't brought in the level of talent or coaching required to succeed at this level. Said Portland star King after the game, "I can't be sure who to blame, but San Antonio doesn't appear to be headed anywhere. Their coach hasn't brought in the kind of players he needed to, and it really didn't look like they knew what to do out there. Coach always comes up with a solid game plan for us and drills it into us, and I'm pretty sure he'd be able to do a better job than Bob is doing with San Antonio."
Portland coach Bob refused to comment on the San Antonio coaching situation. "It's easy to be critical from where we stand, but I don't know enough about that situation to comment. I'm just happy with how we played today. We've got a great group of players and they did a tremendous job."
Portland was led by King (14 points, 13 boards, 6 assists, 3 steals), Virtue (16 points, a block), Oh (18 points, 2 blocks). San Antonio was led by Almanzar (15 points, 5 assists), Thomas (11 points, 8 boards, 3 assists), Mudd (16 points, 1 assists, a block).
Portland are now 15-10 and 10-2 at home. They stay at #2 in the Northwest and stay at #5 overall in the Western Conference. San Antonio stand at 11-16. They hold at #5 in the Southwest and move down to #10 overall in the Western Conference.
