CVBL: Sacramento and Denver Down to the Wire
Sacramento came out on top in an exciting game against Denver. "I'm sure it was a dream game for the fans, with the result in the balance down to the end," said Sacramento coach Bob. "But these sorts of games give me gray hair."
Bob and his counterpart, Denver coach Bob, brought out the best in their teams. "Not a lot of mistakes from either side," said Bob. "That's what I like to see. Of course, I'd like to see us win as well but only one team can do that. Sacramento just played better, and we have to tip our hats to them."
Sacramento was led by Stanford (10 points, 21 boards, 2 assists, a steal, 3 blocks), Hume (21 points, 5 boards, 3 assists, a steal), Sherrill (19 points, 2 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks). Denver was led by Schmidt (24 points, 6 boards, 2 assists, 3 steals), Phillips (12 points, 12 boards, 2 assists, a block), Ferguson (8 points, 9 boards, 0 assists, 2 blocks).
