CVBL: 108-92 Memphis
Memphis looked like champions today, beating Minnesota 108-92. "That's the best we've seen them for a while," said an overwhelmed Minnesota coach Bob. "None of the tapes we had of them showed the fluid execution that we saw out there today, and frankly we just weren't prepared as well as they were. I take full responsibility for that; with better preparation we could have won. Instead they just took over the game and never let us back in."
Memphis was led by Whitfield (26 points, 17 boards, 2 assists, 5 blocks), Chatman (17 points, 6 assists, 5 steals), Calloway (25 points, 0 assists). Minnesota was led by Kaplan (14 points, a steal, 6 blocks), Tracy (11 points, 12 boards, 1 assists, a steal, a block), Edwards (19 points, 5 boards, 0 assists, a block).
With today's victory, Memphis jump to 20-6. They remain at #1 in the Southwest and stay at #1 overall in the Western Conference. Minnesota have lost their last 5 games and drop to 7-17 and 6-8 at home. They move down to #5 in the Northwest and move down to #13 overall in the Western Conference.
