CVBL: Gorman Unstoppable with Triple-Double
Gorman had a triple-double today, saving San Antonio from upset and keying a 110-108 overtime win over Chicago. "I guess we got a bit overconfident and overlooked them," said San Antonio coach Bob. "You should never believe your own press, but that's what we did. Fortunately we had Gorman out there, who was on fire from the start and whose intensity gradually rubbed off on the rest of the players. It's a shame it took them so long to wake up, but we'll be happy with the win."
San Antonio was led by Gorman (14 points, 10 boards, 10 assists, 4 steals), Thompson (24 points, 7 boards, 2 assists, a block), Williams (22 points, 6 assists). Chicago was led by Johnson (6 points, 17 boards, 4 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks), Smith (25 points, 3 assists, 2 blocks), Cobbs (17 points, 0 assists, a block).
San Antonio ended their slump at 5 games, and improve to 11-16. They remain at #5 in the Southwest and improve to #13 overall in the Western Conference. With today's loss, Chicago are now 10-16 and 6-5 at home. They stay at #4 in the Central and stay at #11 overall in the Eastern Conference.
