CVBL: Charlotte Gets Solid 108-84 Win
A collapse by New York led to a 108-84 beating by Charlotte, increasing the pressure on the New York coach. Bob had to suffer through the game as his players were ineffective and his former fans were heckling. To make matters worse, the team was dominated by hated Charlotte, a bad thing for any New York coach.
"That ---- man can't win a ---- game if his ---- life depended on it!" screamed one disgruntled fan, who is obviously tired of New York losing ways. While New York deny it, rumors about that they have already started a search for a new coach who can turn this franchise around.
It was just more fuel for the fire today when Charlotte took New York behind the woodpile for a 108-84 whooping. Although Vegas was predicting a Charlotte win, many people believed the New York certainly had the talent to knock them off. Adkins did everything in his power to help his coach, but in the end Sandercock led the Charlotte to victory.
"You hate to see somebody with Bob's character go through this. It's just a sad sight," commented Charlotte coach Bob. "We're obviously delighted to get the victory over such a worthy adversary in a big rivalry game like this, and all I can do is credit my players, my assistants, and our fans."
Charlotte was led by Sandercock (23 points, a steal), Johnson (6 points, 9 assists, a steal), Plungis (17 points, a block). New York was led by Adkins (15 points, 6 boards, 0 assists, a steal, a block), Harrington (16 points, 7 boards, 0 assists), Rowe (12 points, 8 boards, 0 assists, a block).
With today's victory, Charlotte jump to 18-8 and 8-4 at home. They hold at #1 in the Southeast and hold at #2 overall in the Eastern Conference. New York fall to 10-18. They hold at #4 in the Atlantic and remain at #14 overall in the Eastern Conference.
