CVBL: Sacramento Teaches Indiana a Lesson
An old-fashioned blowout was in the cards today, as Sacramento outscored Indiana 108-83. Neither the win nor the final score came as a huge surprise to some observers, who consider Indiana one of the most pitiful teams in league history. "They ought to drop down a couple divisions," said one pundit. "Today's game was just one more bit of evidence that they can't compete at this level. Maybe if they got a new coach and a new roster they could, but until then it's going to be more games like this."
Coach Hitch is hoping to turn things around a bit quicker. "We'll have to study the tapes tonight and figure out where they beat us. Some better preparation and we'll have no problems matching up against teams like this."
Sacramento was led by Gilliam (33 points, 2 assists, a steal, a block), Brown (6 points, 14 boards, 4 assists, a steal, 2 blocks), Moore (13 points, 2 steals, 2 blocks). Indiana was led by Battle (23 points, a steal), Wade (8 points, 11 boards, 2 assists, a steal), Mack (8 points, 4 steals).
Sacramento improve to 21-5 and 12-2 at home with this victory. They remain at #1 in the Pacific and advance to #2 overall in the Western Conference. Indiana have lost their last 5 games and stand at 12-14. They remain at #3 in the Central and hold at #7 overall in the Eastern Conference.
