CVBL: Minnesota Does What it Takes to Stun LA Clippers 98-88

A walk in the park for LA Clippers turned into a nightmare, as Minnesota pulled off the upset in today's showdown. As usual after a surprise loss, the finger pointing came after the game in the LA Clippers locker room. "Coach didn't really bother preparing us for this game. We'd already been watching films of our next opponent," said Williams.

Adnan Bislimovic acknowledged that was true, but said "our next opponent is three times as good as Minnesota. Of course we dedicate more time to preparing for them. I'm not faulting Williams, but if the rest of the team had played as hard we'd have won this game easily. It was a lack of effort, not preparation."

Minnesota coach Bob could care less whose fault it was. "We're thrilled to get the win. They can make all the excuses they want, but we were the better team out there today."

Minnesota was led by Edwards (31 points, 13 boards, 0 assists, a block), Boll (26 points, 6 boards, 1 assists, 3 steals, a block), Evans (5 points, 11 assists, 3 steals). LA Clippers was led by Williams (10 points, 13 boards, 2 assists, 2 blocks), Coleman (10 points, 11 boards, 2 assists, a block), Newton (6 points, 11 assists).

Minnesota ended their losing skid at 5 games, and stand at 8-17 and 7-8 at home. They improve to #4 in the Northwest and advance to #11 overall in the Western Conference. LA Clippers drop to 17-10 with today's defeat. They remain at #1 in the Pacific and hold at #3 overall in the Western Conference.
