CVBL: Chicago Wins

Portland came up short today against Chicago, falling 99-96. "That was a really tough game to lose," said Portland coach Bob after the game. "We came in thinking we could beat these guys. And we really played them well. But a few too many mistakes on our part kept us from getting the 'W'." One player who definitely can't be too downcast is Hume, whose outstanding game was one of the bright points for Portland and caused some other teams to take notice.

Chicago was led by Horton (16 points, 12 boards, 1 assists, a steal), Sigler (21 points, 2 blocks), Meyers (17 points, 8 boards, 1 assists, a block). Portland was led by Hume (14 points, 3 steals), Harper (14 points, 5 boards, 0 assists, 5 blocks), King (12 points, 7 boards, 6 assists).

Chicago jump to 19-8 after this win. They hold at #2 in the Central and remain at #4 overall in the Eastern Conference. Portland snapped their winning streak at 8 games, and fall to 15-11 and 10-3 at home. They stay at #2 in the Northwest and fall to #6 overall in the Western Conference.
