CVBL: Brooklyn Gets Win Over Houston
Owens led Brooklyn to victory today over Houston in a 115-112 game. "It was a tough one to lose," said losing coach Bob. "I thought we had a great chance going in, and even now I think we'd have a great chance in a rematch. But Owens made the difference for his team, and we really didn't have an answer today."
Brooklyn coach Bob was equally admiring of his star. "Houston were very well prepared for this game, and our boys weren't really ready for what they faced out there. I like to believe that we'd play a better all-around game when we play them again, but we'll be happy riding Owens and getting the win today."
Brooklyn was led by Owens (37 points, 9 boards, 4 assists, 2 blocks), Jeanlouis (20 points, 1 assists, a block), Hargrove (7 points, 9 boards, 2 assists, 2 blocks). Houston was led by Jackson (21 points, 12 boards, 3 assists, 2 steals), James (21 points, 1 assists, a block), Howard (15 points, 2 assists, a steal, a block).
Brooklyn jump to 16-9 with this victory. They hold at #1 in the Atlantic and hold at #3 overall in the Eastern Conference. Houston fall to 12-14 and 8-6 at home. They remain at #4 in the Southwest and hold at #7 overall in the Western Conference.
