CVBL: Milwaukee Gets Win Over Indiana
Milwaukee overcame a great game by Cato, beating Indiana 92-83. "It's a team sport," said losing coach Coach Hitch. "If we had another couple players like Cato out there, we'd have won this game easily. But we didn't, so we didn't." Coach Hitch has been under fire lately, and the lackluster performance by his players (save Cato) certainly doesn't improve his job security any.
The normally-quiet Cato was less than satisfied after the game. "I feel betrayed - like I did my best and my teammates didn't. I don't know if it was coach's fault for not getting the team up, or if the other players just all had an off day at the same time. But this was a close game, we had our chances, and we didn't execute when we needed."
Milwaukee was led by Thomas (33 points, 8 boards, 0 assists, 2 steals), Martinez (5 points, 9 boards, 11 assists, a steal), Hunter (16 points, 5 boards, 1 assists, 2 blocks). Indiana was led by Cato (27 points, a steal, 2 blocks), Craig (14 points, 3 steals), Williams (9 points, 0 assists, a block).
After today's win, Milwaukee jump to 24-2. They remain at #1 in the Central and remain at #1 overall in the Eastern Conference. Indiana fall to 15-11 and 8-4 at home. They remain at #3 in the Central and fall to #7 overall in the Eastern Conference.
