CVBL: Utah Over Golden State 83-75
The fans got what they came out for, as Utah won a seesaw 83-75 victory over Golden State. "What a great game to have been a part of," said Utah star Feaster. "The momentum kept changing and neither team really had a chance to run away with the game. It just came down to having more in the tank at the end, and that was us."
Golden State coach Perez Suarez was less enthusiastic about the game. "We had our chances to win the game, but didn't convert them. I'm most bothered that it seemed like we faded down the stretch; I think we may need to spend a little more time working on conditioning in the future. Regardless, it was a great game. Feaster and [Golden State star] Adkins really put on a show for the fans."
Utah was led by Feaster (21 points, 14 boards, 2 assists, a block), Jones (22 points, 3 steals, 2 blocks), Smiley (10 points, 11 boards, 1 assists, a block). Golden State was led by Adkins (13 points, 23 boards, 1 assists), Stanford (23 points, 0 assists, a steal, a block), Moore (13 points, 5 boards, 1 assists, a block).
With the victory, Utah improve to 18-10. They move up to #1 in the Northwest and improve to #2 overall in the Western Conference. Golden State fall to 9-18 and 6-7 at home. They remain at #4 in the Pacific and fall to #13 overall in the Western Conference.
