CVBL: Toronto Upsets Philadelphia
Toronto pulled off the upset, beating Philadelphia in a game where nobody gave them much of a chance. Their prospects certainly looked bleak on paper, with most predictions giving Philadelphia a solid win thanks to better skill at most positions. But head coach Bob came up with a marvelous game plan and kept Philadelphia coach Bob guessing most of the game. This, as well as a number of solid performances by Wright and others, gave Toronto the edge they needed to come out on top. "I think we caught them by surprise," said Bob after the game. "They played like they expected the win to be handed to them, but we made some adjustments after studying their tendencies and it paid off."
Toronto was led by Wright (15 points, 9 boards, 0 assists, 4 blocks), Murray (16 points, a steal), Chavis (14 points, 2 blocks). Philadelphia was led by Ferguson (12 points, 6 boards, 0 assists, 2 blocks), Blunt (14 points, 0 assists, a steal), Norman (13 points, 1 assists).
With the victory, Toronto jump to 15-13. They hold at #2 in the Atlantic and stay at #4 overall in the Eastern Conference. Philadelphia broke their winning streak at 5 games, and are now 17-10 and 11-4 at home. They hold at #1 in the Atlantic and hold at #2 overall in the Eastern Conference.
