CVBL: Minnesota Surprises Denver
Minnesota came out solid today, defying the predictions and notching the 106-91 upset of Denver. "Somebody forgot to tell them they were underdogs," quipped Denver coach Bob after the game. "No question, they were the better team out there today and deserved this win. I thought we came in prepared, but that was just a lot better than we've seen Minnesota play for some time."
Credit has to be given to Minnesota coach Bob, who brought his team together after some tough losses earlier and has them playing at their best. "Some of the us really took those losses hard," said star Patterson. "But coach sat us down and showed us what we were doing wrong and what we needed to do to turn around. That was great to hear, and you saw the results today."
Minnesota was led by Patterson (14 points, 16 boards, 0 assists, 3 blocks), Mark (26 points, 10 boards, 2 assists), Dirks (11 points, 12 boards, 5 assists, a block). Denver was led by Phillips (22 points, 7 boards, 0 assists), White (10 points, 7 boards, 0 assists, 2 blocks), Ferguson (8 points, 1 assists, 3 blocks).
With the win, Minnesota stand at 11-18 and 6-6 at home. They hold at #5 in the Northwest and remain at #11 overall in the Western Conference. With this loss, Denver are now 17-12. They hold at #3 in the Northwest and stay at #6 overall in the Western Conference.
