CVBL: Milwaukee Puts on a Demonstration
Valentine had a great game today to lead Milwaukee to a 115-84 rout of Phoenix. "Valentine played his heart out today, and the rest of the team followed," said Bob of his star's performance. "Admittedly this wasn't the toughest competition we've ever faced, but it's great to see a game where everything works as planned."
Faces were a bit longer in the Phoenix locker room. "Everybody knew that Phoenix are a great team and that it would take a flawless game on our part and some luck to beat them. But to lose by this kind of margin is disheartening. We were just completely ineffective out there. I'll have to look over the films and try to turn this into a learning experience. Certainly I can pick up some tips from Bob's coaching."
Milwaukee was led by Valentine (19 points, 13 boards, 1 assists, 2 blocks), Jaramillo (13 points, 8 boards, 2 assists, a steal), Reese (14 points, 3 assists, a steal, 2 blocks). Phoenix was led by Blackwell (15 points, 8 boards, 2 assists), Bermel (5 points, 10 assists, a steal), Taylor (21 points, 0 assists).
Milwaukee stand at 26-2 and 10-0 at home. They stay at #1 in the Central and stay at #1 overall in the Eastern Conference. Phoenix are now 8-19. They stay at #3 in the Pacific and remain at #13 overall in the Western Conference.
