CVBL: Philadelphia Express Steamrolls Cleveland 91-82
Philadelphia beat Cleveland today in a 91-82 game that was close the whole way. For much of the game, it looked like Cleveland would be able to pull off the win, thanks in large part to an outstanding performance by Courtney. But the tide finally turned in the end, with Philadelphia star Ferguson leading his team to victory.
"Definitely a great game," said Philadelphia coach Bob after the game. "The fans got their money's worth out of it, and both teams put up a good fight. We're just glad that we were able to finish strong and get the W. Ferguson was a big part of that, and I don't think we'd have won without his efforts."
Philadelphia was led by Ferguson (15 points, 8 boards, 0 assists, 4 blocks), Blunt (11 points, 9 boards, 2 assists, a steal), Eatmon (10 points, 9 boards, 1 assists, a steal). Cleveland was led by Courtney (11 points, a steal, a block), Berry (14 points, 6 boards, 2 assists, a steal), Powell (10 points, 14 boards, 2 assists).
Philadelphia jump to 18-10 and 12-4 at home. They remain at #1 in the Atlantic and hold at #2 overall in the Eastern Conference. Cleveland fall to 13-14 with today's defeat. They remain at #2 in the Central and remain at #6 overall in the Eastern Conference.
