CVBL: Cleveland Huge over Sacramento

Despite being dominated all day, underdog Cleveland came away with the 90-87 upset of Sacramento. "What a strange game," remarked Cleveland coach Bob afterwards. "Sacramento were by far the better team today, but couldn't get the win. If I hadn't been keeping track of the score, I'd have thought we lost badly. But somehow we came out on top."

The sense of disbelief was apparent in the Sacramento locker room afterwards. "We thought we did everything right," said star Weaver. "We executed our game plan, both on offense and defense, and did what we needed to do. But a few plays make or break the game, and those all went the wrong way. Just a demoralizing way to lose."

Cleveland was led by Sigler (15 points, 7 boards, 3 assists, a steal, 4 blocks), Smith (14 points, 8 boards, 4 assists, a steal), Fanny (11 points, 5 boards, 5 assists, 2 steals). Sacramento was led by Weaver (14 points, a steal), Crandell (12 points, 2 assists, a steal, a block), Smith (9 points, 5 boards, 2 assists, 2 steals).

After today's victory, Cleveland jump to 13-14 and 8-5 at home. They stay at #4 in the Central and advance to #9 overall in the Eastern Conference. Sacramento stand at 20-7. They hold at #1 in the Pacific and hold at #1 overall in the Western Conference.
