CVBL: Dallas Upsets Chicago 112-93
Dallas pulled off the upset, beating Chicago in a game where nobody gave them much of a chance. Their prospects certainly looked bleak on paper, with most predictions giving Chicago a solid win thanks to better skill at most positions. But head coach Bob came up with a marvelous game plan and kept Chicago coach Bob guessing most of the game. This, as well as a number of solid performances by Kay and others, gave Dallas the edge they needed to come out on top. "I think we caught them by surprise," said Bob after the game. "They played like they expected the win to be handed to them, but we made some adjustments after studying their tendencies and it paid off."
Dallas was led by Kay (18 points, 7 boards, 2 assists, a block), Simpson (14 points, 6 boards, 3 assists, 2 blocks), Madison (19 points, 0 assists, 2 blocks). Chicago was led by Sigler (16 points, 7 boards, 1 assists, a block), Joyner (13 points, 2 steals, a block), Meyers (19 points, 0 assists, a steal, a block).
Dallas improve to 17-11. They remain at #2 in the Southwest and advance to #4 overall in the Western Conference. Chicago fall to 19-9 and 13-3 at home. They remain at #2 in the Central and stay at #4 overall in the Eastern Conference.
