CVBL: Dallas and Phoenix Down to the Wire
Forrester scored 48 points, helping Dallas to beat Phoenix today 130-128. But the big headlines in the game came from an incident involving Phoenix players and coach Bob after the game. After the players disappeared into their respective locker rooms, Phoenix players reportedly attacked coach, throwing him to the ground. Reporters waiting outside heard only pieces of the shouting, but the players were clearly upset by Bob's questionable calls late in the game. Phoenix star Fripp was one of those involved, and was still upset about the situation during the post-game interviews. "I'm not free to comment on what happened," he said. "But I will tell you that I'm working my tail off every game and expect the same effort from my teammates and coaches."
Interviews with Dallas players were a bit less exciting, with Forrester giving the cliche line "we're just happy to come out with the win. Coach Bob and his team gave a good fight, but we were the better team today."
Dallas was led by Forrester (48 points, 3 assists), Perry (34 points, 8 boards, 6 assists, a block), Mack (22 points). Phoenix was led by Fripp (37 points, 0 assists, 4 blocks), Virtue (22 points, 1 assists), Mercer (5 points, a steal).
Dallas are now 16-12. They hold at #2 in the Southwest and remain at #7 overall in the Western Conference. Phoenix stand at 15-13 and 10-7 at home with this defeat. They hold at #3 in the Pacific and stay at #8 overall in the Western Conference.
