CVBL: Bob Ecstatic as Boston Upsets Sacramento
Sacramento came in as the heavy favorites and played like they knew it, in one of the laziest efforts the league has seen for a while. "Before the game, I kept telling them that they needed to stay focused. Sure, Boston isn't very good, but they're not going to lay down and play dead either," said Sacramento coach Bob. "But nothing worked. I even heard some players betting on the margin of victory." That overconfidence cost them, as they lost 85-75.
The credit goes to Boston coach Bob, who had his team playing the best they've played in a while. The game plan was perfect, and Boston took advantage of every opportunity they were given. "We caught them with their guard down," he said after the game. "They'd probably win a rematch, but that doesn't matter. All that matters is today's score."
Boston was led by Dick (18 points, 11 boards, 2 assists, a block), Murphy (7 points, 15 boards, 1 assists, a block), Woodard (11 points, 1 assists, a steal, 2 blocks). Sacramento was led by Bravo (24 points, 5 boards, 1 assists, 2 blocks), Stanford (11 points, 16 boards, 1 assists, a block), Sherrill (15 points, a steal, a block).
With the victory, Boston are now 7-22 and 5-10 at home. They stay at #5 in the Atlantic and remain at #15 overall in the Eastern Conference. Sacramento drop to 21-8 with the defeat. They move down to #2 in the Pacific and move down to #4 overall in the Western Conference.
