CVBL: Orlando Stuns the World

Orlando overcame huge odds and a great Detroit team to pull off a big upset today. The game begin with a yawn, as nobody in the stadium except for the Orlando player and coach Bob thought the game would turn out this way. But as the game progressed and Orlando stayed with Detroit and started pulling ahead, the electricity in the air began to build. By the end, fans of both sides knew they had witnessed one of the great performances ever.

Even Detroit coach David Smith was impressed. "Normally in an upset, the favorite has to really screw things up. We didn't play magnificently, but we didn't play badly either. You just have to give credit to Bob and his team. Wright played especially well for them; I don't think anyone really expected that sort of game from him."

Orlando was led by Wright (24 points, 6 boards, 2 assists, a block), Burke (17 points, 5 boards, 0 assists, a steal), Vancourt (15 points, 0 assists, 2 blocks). Detroit was led by Shaw (13 points, 2 steals), Henderson (10 points, 8 boards, 1 assists, 2 steals, a block), Rausch (10 points, 8 boards, 0 assists, a steal, 2 blocks).

With the win, Orlando stand at 12-15 and 8-4 at home. They hold at #2 in the Southeast and stay at #9 overall in the Eastern Conference. Detroit ended their winning streak at 7 games, and fall to 26-2. They remain at #1 in the Central and stay at #1 overall in the Eastern Conference.
