CVBL: Chicago Beats Minnesota 111-101
The fans got what they came out for, as Chicago won a seesaw 111-101 victory over Minnesota. "What a great game to have been a part of," said Chicago star Wilson. "The momentum kept changing and neither team really had a chance to run away with the game. It just came down to having more in the tank at the end, and that was us."
Minnesota coach Bob was less enthusiastic about the game. "We had our chances to win the game, but didn't convert them. I'm most bothered that it seemed like we faded down the stretch; I think we may need to spend a little more time working on conditioning in the future. Regardless, it was a great game. Wilson and [Minnesota star] Edwards really put on a show for the fans."
Chicago was led by Wilson (20 points, 4 assists, a steal, a block), Horton (16 points, 14 boards, 2 assists), Joyner (16 points, 7 boards, 2 assists, a block). Minnesota was led by Edwards (17 points, 5 boards, 2 assists, 3 blocks), Kaplan (14 points, 5 boards, 2 assists, 4 blocks), Brown (17 points, 4 assists, a steal).
Chicago jump to 20-9 with this victory. They hold at #2 in the Central and stay at #4 overall in the Eastern Conference. Minnesota stand at 8-19 and 7-10 at home after this loss. They stay at #5 in the Northwest and remain at #12 overall in the Western Conference.
