CVBL: Portland Teaches LA Clippers a Lesson
Lots of preparation paid off this evening, as Portland blew past LA Clippers 107-81. "Coach did a great job for this one," said Portland star Jackson. "He really studied LA Clippers, figured out their tendencies, and gave us one heck of a game plan. I think we're almost getting spoiled with his great work - every game we go out there knowing exactly what our opponent is going to try. We don't always get blowouts like this, but we are always the better-prepared team."
Portland was led by Jackson (25 points, 6 boards, 3 assists, 2 steals, 6 blocks), Smith (5 points, 3 steals), Kimbell (24 points, a block). LA Clippers was led by Nichols (16 points, 2 blocks), Hayes (12 points, 2 blocks), Patrick (15 points, 2 blocks).
Portland improve to 19-9 after this victory. They stay at #1 in the Northwest and stay at #2 overall in the Western Conference. LA Clippers ended their winning streak at 6 games, and drop to 19-7 and 11-4 at home. They move down to #2 in the Pacific and move down to #4 overall in the Western Conference.
