CVBL: Charlotte Steals Spotlight from Houston

Charlotte brushed past an overmatched Houston team today 111-91. Always politically correct, Charlotte coach Bob stated simply "We just managed to do what we needed to get done out there. The players had solid execution all around, and Plungis's effort helped set the pace. Houston is a team we've had success against in the past, which I think gave us a bit more confidence coming in."

Houston coach Bob was a little more frank. "We knew going in that we'd need a miracle to beat Charlotte, and we didn't get it. They have better players and a better coach, and did what they were supposed to do out there. I'm just glad the final score wasn't even worse."

Charlotte was led by Plungis (29 points, 9 boards, 2 assists, 2 blocks), White (31 points, 0 assists, a block), Horn (8 points, 11 boards, 3 assists, 2 steals). Houston was led by Joseph (17 points, 5 boards, 3 assists), Mackey (10 points), Espinoza (9 points, 7 boards, 0 assists, a steal).

Charlotte improve to 20-9 and 10-5 at home with today's victory. They remain at #1 in the Southeast and stay at #2 overall in the Eastern Conference. Houston are now 13-15. They remain at #4 in the Southwest and stay at #7 overall in the Western Conference.
