CVBL: San Antonio Coach Gets Upset over Philadelphia

A much-improved San Antonio team pulled off the 103-98 upset of Philadelphia today. "That's the best we've played all season," said San Antonio coach Bob. "I've seen that potential in us all along, but for some reason it hasn't come out during games. Hopefully this outing can be the turning point for us that we can build on in future games."

Philadelphia was caught off-guard by new-look San Antonio. "What we got out there today wasn't what we had seen before or on tape, even in their best games. So while we always try to prepare for the worst, we had no idea that they could play as well as they did today. I still think we can beat them, and next time we'll have an idea what to look for."

San Antonio was led by Meyers (25 points, 8 boards, 0 assists, a block), Gorman (5 points, 9 assists, 3 steals), Thompson (13 points, 6 boards, 2 assists, 3 blocks). Philadelphia was led by Wilson (7 points, 15 assists), Ferguson (13 points, 13 boards, 2 assists, a block), Blunt (18 points, 6 boards, 0 assists, a block).

San Antonio stand at 13-18 and 9-5 at home after the win. They hold at #5 in the Southwest and stay at #13 overall in the Western Conference. After this loss, Philadelphia drop to 18-12. They remain at #1 in the Atlantic and stay at #2 overall in the Eastern Conference.
