CVBL: San Antonio Knocks Off Brooklyn
A series of mistakes by Brooklyn gave San Antonio the 102-90 upset. "We just lost our focus," said Brooklyn coach Bob. "Frankly, they were overmatched and they knew it. We did what we wanted for most of the game, but just blew it. What a tough way to go. You have to give them credit - they stuck around against a tougher opponent and were in position to take advantage when we gave them freebies."
San Antonio was led by Duncan (23 points, 21 boards, 3 assists, a steal, a block), Almanzar (8 points, 3 steals), Dick (9 points, a steal, a block). Brooklyn was led by Owens (18 points, 2 steals), Tucker (20 points, 5 boards, 0 assists, 2 blocks), Hargrove (9 points, 16 boards, 2 assists, a block).
After today's victory, San Antonio improve to 14-17 and 7-7 at home. They move up to #4 in the Southwest and advance to #7 overall in the Western Conference. Brooklyn drop to 18-10. They fall to #2 in the Atlantic and fall to #5 overall in the Eastern Conference.
