CVBL: New Orleans Pulls Out Upset of Denver
A much-improved New Orleans team pulled off the 111-95 upset of Denver today. "That's the best we've played all season," said New Orleans coach Bob. "I've seen that potential in us all along, but for some reason it hasn't come out during games. Hopefully this outing can be the turning point for us that we can build on in future games."
Denver was caught off-guard by new-look New Orleans. "What we got out there today wasn't what we had seen before or on tape, even in their best games. So while we always try to prepare for the worst, we had no idea that they could play as well as they did today. I still think we can beat them, and next time we'll have an idea what to look for."
New Orleans was led by Davis (20 points, 8 boards, 2 assists, 4 blocks), Davis (11 points, 9 assists, 5 steals, a block), Ensley (26 points, a steal). Denver was led by Hamilton (17 points, 8 boards, 0 assists, a block), Moore (14 points, 12 boards, 0 assists, a block), Smith (8 points).
After today's victory, New Orleans jump to 15-14. They hold at #3 in the Southwest and hold at #7 overall in the Western Conference. Denver drop to 20-10 and 12-2 at home. They hold at #1 in the Northwest and remain at #2 overall in the Western Conference.
