CVBL: Minnesota Stumbles, Brooklyn Win
Bob is a believer in destiny now. After running up a $300 phone bill talking with a fortune teller he saw advertised on cable TV, his Brooklyn team managed to upset favored Minnesota Bob-Bob.
"It was crazy. I called her up, and she knew I was the Brooklyn coach. She saw the whole game before it happened. She told me we needed to build our game around Alves, and that sure worked out well. She was telling me their entire gameplan, I couldn't take notes fast enough. She saw that Dirks was going to have a big day for Minnesota, but not to worry about him and focus on the rest of the team. The best part was she told me at the end that it was destiny for us to win this game. Destiny."
Asked what he thought about Bob's experience, Minnesota coach Bob replied simply: "No comment".
Brooklyn was led by Alves (23 points, 17 boards, 0 assists, a block), Spring (19 points, 1 assists, a steal), Jobe (15 points, 5 boards, 0 assists, a steal). Minnesota was led by Dirks (17 points, 7 boards, 10 assists, a steal, a block), Gisi (10 points, 7 boards, 6 assists, a steal, a block), Smith (24 points).
After this win, Brooklyn improve to 14-15. They stay at #3 in the Atlantic and stay at #7 overall in the Eastern Conference. Minnesota fall to 17-11 and 8-5 at home. They remain at #2 in the Northwest and stay at #6 overall in the Western Conference.
