CVBL: Denver Beats San Antonio

The fans got what they came out for, as Denver won a seesaw 104-103 victory over San Antonio. "What a great game to have been a part of," said Denver star Davidson. "The momentum kept changing and neither team really had a chance to run away with the game. It just came down to having more in the tank at the end, and that was us."

San Antonio coach Bob was less enthusiastic about the game. "We had our chances to win the game, but didn't convert them. I'm most bothered that it seemed like we faded down the stretch; I think we may need to spend a little more time working on conditioning in the future. Regardless, it was a great game. Davidson and [San Antonio star] Duncan really put on a show for the fans."

Denver was led by Davidson (6 points, 7 boards, 18 assists, 5 steals, 2 blocks), Simmons (20 points, 7 boards, 0 assists, a block), Stith (14 points, a steal, a block). San Antonio was led by Duncan (29 points, 14 boards, 1 assists, a block), Almanzar (6 points, 6 boards, 12 assists, 2 steals), Mudd (17 points, 7 boards, 0 assists, 4 blocks).

With the victory, Denver jump to 22-10. They hold at #1 in the Northwest and stay at #2 overall in the Western Conference. San Antonio fall to 14-18 and 7-8 at home. They move down to #5 in the Southwest and fall to #8 overall in the Western Conference.
