CVBL: Miami Pulls Out Upset of New York

Miami pulled off the 115-111 upset of New York today, thanks to a mistake-filled game. "We stank," said losing coach Bob. "We beat them around like high-schoolers whenever we played like we usually do, but that wasn't often enough. There's just no excuse for that type of play. I suppose we just got overconfident; I mean New York isn't exactly a top-notch team. But we sure stank it up out there."

Miami coach Bob focused more on the positives. "Bob can say what he wants, but we really managed to knock them out of their usual plan. Would that have happened if they weren't playing anybody? He makes it sound like they gave the game away, but the truth is that we played with them the whole way and were in position to capitalize when our chances came."

Miami was led by Keeney (32 points, 9 boards, 1 assists, a steal), Williams (25 points, 7 boards, 1 assists, a block), Colomb (8 points, 10 boards, 1 assists, a block). New York was led by Chatman (6 points, 6 steals), Howie (26 points, 1 assists, a block), Battle (17 points, 5 boards, 1 assists, a block).

With today's victory, Miami are now 14-15 and 9-5 at home. They remain at #1 in the Southeast and stay at #3 overall in the Eastern Conference. New York stand at 22-8. They fall to #2 in the Atlantic and drop to #4 overall in the Eastern Conference.
