CVBL: Put it on the Board: Sacramento Wins
Sacramento beat Utah by a score of 105-81, even catching some fans off guard. "We knew the lines in Vegas listed us as favorites," said Sacramento coach Bob. "And we knew we had a great shot going in, but really expected a more competitive game. I don't know whether we were really that good or whether they had something else on their minds. Whatever, we're thrilled to get this kind of win over an excellent team like Utah."
Said Utah star Robinson, "Coach kept yelling at us 'you know you're better than that,' and he was right. We just didn't have the intensity or whatever today, and it showed in our game. The good thing is that we know we can't play much worse than we did out there, and that we could have won if we'd played as good as we're capable of playing."
Sacramento was led by Gilliam (29 points, 3 blocks), Velazquez (27 points), Daniels (21 points). Utah was led by Robinson (21 points, a block), Burke (13 points, 0 assists, 2 steals), Patton (17 points, a block).
Sacramento have been victorious in the past 6 games and are now 25-5 and 14-2 at home. They stay at #1 in the Pacific and advance to #1 overall in the Western Conference. Utah broke their tear at 11 games, and drop to 25-6. They stay at #1 in the Northwest and move down to #2 overall in the Western Conference.
