CVBL: Charlotte Storms Past Oklahoma Cty
Not that anybody expected today's Charlotte-Oklahoma Cty matchup to be terribly competitive, but this was almost comical. The 113-84 final score was enough of a headline, but the game wasn't even as close as that score indicated as Charlotte coach Bob played it conservative most of the game to avoid running up the score too much. "Boy, it's great to see our offense click like that," he said. "It's like a gourmet restaurant - everything on the menu looked good." Said losing coach Bob, "We were just outclassed, no question. We don't have the talent they do, and we weren't as prepared coming in. And it was definitely classy of Bob to pull his key players halfway through the game."
Charlotte was led by White (33 points, 0 assists, a block), Plungis (18 points, 5 boards, 1 assists, a block), Torres (13 points, 8 boards, 1 assists, 2 blocks). Oklahoma Cty was led by Pollard (6 points, 2 steals), Madison (13 points, 3 assists, 2 steals), Schab (17 points, 0 assists, a block).
With the win, Charlotte jump to 21-9 and 11-5 at home. They hold at #1 in the Southeast and hold at #2 overall in the Eastern Conference. Oklahoma Cty fall to 12-18 with today's loss. They stay at #3 in the Northwest and stay at #9 overall in the Western Conference.
