CVBL: LA Clippers Surprises Sacramento 106-97
A walk in the park for Sacramento turned into a nightmare, as LA Clippers pulled off the upset in today's showdown. As usual after a surprise loss, the finger pointing came after the game in the Sacramento locker room. "Coach didn't really bother preparing us for this game. We'd already been watching films of our next opponent," said Kaplan.
Bob acknowledged that was true, but said "our next opponent is three times as good as LA Clippers. Of course we dedicate more time to preparing for them. I'm not faulting Kaplan, but if the rest of the team had played as hard we'd have won this game easily. It was a lack of effort, not preparation."
LA Clippers coach Adnan Bislimovic could care less whose fault it was. "We're thrilled to get the win. They can make all the excuses they want, but we were the better team out there today."
LA Clippers was led by Edmonds (12 points, 16 boards, 0 assists, 4 blocks), Newton (13 points, 2 steals, 2 blocks), Farlough (11 points, 11 boards, 1 assists, a block). Sacramento was led by Kaplan (6 points, 5 boards, 1 assists, 2 steals, 5 blocks), Weaver (17 points, 4 assists), Coleman (15 points, 2 blocks).
After this win, LA Clippers are now 19-10. They stay at #2 in the Pacific and remain at #4 overall in the Western Conference. Sacramento stand at 22-9 and 15-4 at home. They stay at #1 in the Pacific and remain at #1 overall in the Western Conference.
