CVBL: New Orleans 106, Dallas 98 in Upset Win
A great outing by Brown was enough to offset a superior Dallas team and key a 106-98 upset by New Orleans. There's no question that Dallas is the better team, and even after today's loss they remain ranked ahead of New Orleans. But that wasn't important today, when Brown took over and carried his team to a win. "What a gift," grinned New Orleans coach Bob. "The rest of the team got outplayed, but Brown stepped up and got us the win. No complaints, but we'd be surprised to get another win over Dallas."
Said losing coach Bob, "What a tough way to lose. It seemed like we had everything under control today. We pretty much did what we wanted, except for Brown."
New Orleans was led by Brown (9 points, 5 boards, 10 assists, 3 steals), Ziegler (26 points, a steal), Smiley (10 points, 7 boards, 2 assists, a steal). Dallas was led by Thompson (19 points, 12 boards, 2 assists, a block), Mcadoo (17 points, 7 boards, 4 assists), Schmidt (16 points, a steal, a block).
