CVBL: Houston Breaks out Whoopin' Stick
Houston ruined the day for San Antonio with a 125-94 blowout. In a pregame interview, San Antonio coach Bob was optimistic about his team's chances. "We've made some mistakes lately, but if everyone does what they are supposed to we can beat Houston. Don't get me wrong, Bob has built a good team and there's a reason they're the favorites. But we're just as good if we stop making our mental mistakes." Said San Antonio star Freeman, "Coach is right. We've done some reworking of our talent and our game plan, and we've got what it takes to play with Houston."
Those predictions turned out to be wishful thinking, as Bob and his team will go back to the drawing boards after getting shredded in today's game.
Houston was led by Hurd (15 points, 14 assists, 3 steals), Evans (14 points, 7 assists, a steal, 3 blocks), Lewis (25 points, 2 assists, a steal). San Antonio was led by Freeman (26 points), Worthy (11 points), Owens (16 points, 5 blocks).
After this victory, Houston improve to 23-8 and 13-0 at home. They hold at #2 in the Southwest and remain at #4 overall in the Western Conference. San Antonio drop to 13-19 with this loss. They remain at #5 in the Southwest and hold at #13 overall in the Western Conference.
