CVBL: Orlando Cruises Past Memphis
Everything clicked for Orlando today, as they soundly beat Memphis 117-105. Memphis looked beaten for most of the afternoon, and the final outcome was in little doubt. "I thought we came out ready to play, but we were just overmatched," said Memphis coach Bob. "It's kind of demoralizing to lose that way, knowing that you played your best and it wasn't nearly enough." Bob now has the unenviable task of getting his team ready to face another day.
Orlando coach Bob couldn't be happier, though. His game plan was executed perfectly, and his players were able to dominate all aspects of the game. "It's great to get a win like this, when everything went according to plan."
Orlando was led by Dupree (24 points, 9 boards, 2 assists, a steal, a block), Simpson (22 points, 12 boards, 0 assists, a block), Moore (18 points, 5 boards, 3 assists). Memphis was led by Mcwilliams (32 points, 3 assists, a steal), Smith (13 points, a steal, a block), Gill (10 points, 2 assists, a block).
With this victory, Orlando jump to 15-17 and 8-7 at home. They improve to #2 in the Southeast and improve to #8 overall in the Eastern Conference. With the defeat, Memphis stand at 14-17. They stay at #4 in the Southwest and remain at #10 overall in the Western Conference.
