CVBL: Houston 101, Denver 96

Houston beat Denver today, 101-96. But the big headlines in the game came from an incident involving Denver players and coach Bob after the game. After the players disappeared into their respective locker rooms, Denver players reportedly attacked coach, throwing him to the ground. Reporters waiting outside heard only pieces of the shouting, but the players were clearly upset by Bob's questionable calls late in the game. Denver star Davis was one of those involved, and was still upset about the situation during the post-game interviews. "I'm not free to comment on what happened," he said. "But I will tell you that I'm working my tail off every game and expect the same effort from my teammates and coaches."

Interviews with Houston players were a bit less exciting, with Sims giving the cliche line "we're just happy to come out with the win. Coach Bob and his team gave a good fight, but we were the better team today."

Houston was led by Sims (18 points, 11 boards, 2 assists, 4 blocks), Hurd (14 points, 8 assists, 2 steals), Battle (16 points, 13 boards, 1 assists, a steal). Denver was led by Davis (13 points, 19 boards, 0 assists, 2 blocks), Chopp (19 points, 6 boards, 2 assists, a block), White (14 points, 1 assists, 3 blocks).

Houston stand at 24-8 and 14-0 at home. They stay at #2 in the Southwest and remain at #4 overall in the Western Conference. Denver drop to 16-16 with the loss. They move down to #5 in the Northwest and fall to #9 overall in the Western Conference.
