CVBL: Minnesota Surprises Analysts and Sacramento in Overtime
Sacramento coach Bob was thoroughly shocked as he watched his team lose 114-111 in overtime to Minnesota. "I can't believe we lost today," said the Sacramento coach. "We can play much better than this. I think our players just looked at who we were playing and softened up a bit. I mean, really, Minnesota aren't exactly top-quality competition. The only player that played big was Stanford." Stanford played a solid game for Sacramento, but it wouldn't be enough as Minnesota hung on for dear life and then brought a killer blow in overtime.
Minnesota was led by Smith (8 points, 10 assists, 2 steals, a block), Powers (23 points, 5 boards, 1 assists, 2 blocks), Dirks (16 points, 8 boards, 3 assists, 2 steals). Sacramento was led by Stanford (17 points, 15 boards, 1 assists, 4 blocks), Sherrill (26 points, 2 blocks), Bravo (30 points).
Minnesota improve to 13-21 with the victory. They remain at #5 in the Northwest and move up to #11 overall in the Western Conference. Sacramento fall to 24-10 and 12-4 at home after today's defeat. They fall to #2 in the Pacific and fall to #4 overall in the Western Conference.
