CVBL: Portland Steals Spotlight from Dallas

Portland overpowered Dallas today, showing who is the better team. Most around the league expected this kind of result, but Dallas head coach Bob was defiant until game time. "Underdogs, my ----. We've got enough talent and enough heart to play with anybody in the league." Afterwards, his tune had changed significantly. "We've got some work ahead of us before we can play at their level."

The only bright point for Dallas was the great play by Meyers, and Bob was quick to praise his star. "If the whole team had played with his energy, we'd have been able to play with Portland. The bright side is that we know what he can do against them, and we'll try to build on that for our next meeting."

Portland was led by Johnson (20 points, 12 boards, 2 assists, 2 steals), King (17 points, 4 assists, a steal, a block), Harper (14 points, 9 boards, 1 assists, a steal, a block). Dallas was led by Meyers (9 points, 8 boards, 11 assists, 2 steals), Garcia (25 points, 9 boards, 1 assists, a block), Simpson (17 points, 3 assists, 3 blocks).

Portland jump to 21-12 and 14-3 at home with this victory. They hold at #2 in the Northwest and remain at #4 overall in the Western Conference. Dallas drop to 10-21. They remain at #5 in the Southwest and hold at #13 overall in the Western Conference.
