CVBL: Chicago Upends Utah 98-87
Chicago came out solid today, defying the predictions and notching the 98-87 upset of Utah. "Somebody forgot to tell them they were underdogs," quipped Utah coach Coach Young after the game. "No question, they were the better team out there today and deserved this win. I thought we came in prepared, but that was just a lot better than we've seen Chicago play for some time."
Credit has to be given to Chicago coach Bob, who brought his team together after some tough losses earlier and has them playing at their best. "Some of the us really took those losses hard," said star Joseph. "But coach sat us down and showed us what we were doing wrong and what we needed to do to turn around. That was great to hear, and you saw the results today."
Chicago was led by Joseph (16 points, 13 boards, 3 assists, a block), Smith (20 points, 1 assists, 3 blocks), Cobbs (12 points, 1 assists, 2 blocks). Utah was led by Feaster (21 points, 5 boards, 0 assists, 2 blocks), Cummings (15 points, a steal, 2 blocks), Patton (8 points, 2 assists, 3 blocks).
With this victory, Chicago improve to 15-18. They move up to #3 in the Central and improve to #9 overall in the Eastern Conference. With today's loss, Utah stand at 19-14 and 10-7 at home. They stay at #3 in the Northwest and remain at #6 overall in the Western Conference.
