CVBL: New Orleans Escapes in Overtime
Houston defied most predictions by taking New Orleans into overtime, but ran out of gas and lost 124-122. "New Orleans is an outstanding team," said Houston coach Bob. "It took everything we had and a little luck to get into overtime in the first place. But they turned it up a notch after regulation and we couldn't match that. I feel bad for Wallace, who had a great game but was let down by his teammates."
New Orleans was led by Jaramillo (20 points, 8 boards, 1 assists, 6 blocks), Ensley (31 points, a steal), Davis (14 points, 10 boards, 2 assists, 2 blocks). Houston was led by Wallace (23 points, 13 boards, 2 assists, a block), Roberson (17 points, 3 steals, a block), Howard (23 points, 2 blocks).
New Orleans jump to 18-14. They remain at #3 in the Southwest and remain at #7 overall in the Western Conference. Houston fall to 19-13 and 12-4 at home after today's defeat. They remain at #1 in the Southwest and stay at #3 overall in the Western Conference.
