CVBL: Indiana Breaks out Whoopin' Stick
An old-fashioned blowout was in the cards today, as Indiana outscored Miami 110-85. Neither the win nor the final score came as a huge surprise to some observers, who consider Miami one of the most pitiful teams in league history. "They ought to drop down a couple divisions," said one pundit. "Today's game was just one more bit of evidence that they can't compete at this level. Maybe if they got a new coach and a new roster they could, but until then it's going to be more games like this."
Bob is hoping to turn things around a bit quicker. "We'll have to study the tapes tonight and figure out where they beat us. Some better preparation and we'll have no problems matching up against teams like this."
Indiana was led by Owens (13 points, 6 boards, 5 assists, 3 blocks), Bowles (17 points, a steal, a block), Cato (14 points, a steal, a block). Miami was led by Durham (23 points, 7 boards, 1 assists), Banks (5 points, 3 steals), Reed (12 points, 2 assists, a steal).
Indiana improve to 22-9 and 16-1 at home with the victory. They hold at #2 in the Central and hold at #5 overall in the Eastern Conference. Miami have lost their last 7 games and fall to 13-21. They stay at #5 in the Southeast and drop to #13 overall in the Eastern Conference.
