CVBL: Bob Gets Big Win over Chicago
Atlanta overpowered Chicago today, showing who is the better team. Most around the league expected this kind of result, but Chicago head coach Bob was defiant until game time. "Underdogs, my ----. We've got enough talent and enough heart to play with anybody in the league." Afterwards, his tune had changed significantly. "We've got some work ahead of us before we can play at their level."
The only bright point for Chicago was the great play by Johnson, and Bob was quick to praise his star. "If the whole team had played with his energy, we'd have been able to play with Atlanta. The bright side is that we know what he can do against them, and we'll try to build on that for our next meeting."
Atlanta was led by Simon (27 points, a block), Buzzo (12 points, 13 boards, 1 assists, 2 blocks), Jackson (12 points, 11 boards, 4 assists, a block). Chicago was led by Johnson (9 points, 13 boards, 1 assists, a steal, 2 blocks), Campbell (15 points), Cobbs (18 points, 2 blocks).
Atlanta are now 20-14 and 13-6 at home. They remain at #1 in the Southeast and hold at #3 overall in the Eastern Conference. Chicago fall to 12-21. They remain at #4 in the Central and stay at #11 overall in the Eastern Conference.
