CVBL: Oklahoma Cty Beats Odds and LA Clippers
Oklahoma Cty pulled off the upset, beating LA Clippers in a game where nobody gave them much of a chance. Their prospects certainly looked bleak on paper, with most predictions giving LA Clippers a solid win thanks to better skill at most positions. But head coach Bob came up with a marvelous game plan and kept LA Clippers coach Adnan Bislimovic guessing most of the game. This, as well as a number of solid performances by Pollard and others, gave Oklahoma Cty the edge they needed to come out on top. "I think we caught them by surprise," said Bob after the game. "They played like they expected the win to be handed to them, but we made some adjustments after studying their tendencies and it paid off."
Oklahoma Cty was led by Pollard (12 points, 5 boards, 7 assists, 4 steals), Schab (20 points, 11 boards, 0 assists), Wilson (16 points, a steal, 2 blocks). LA Clippers was led by Feaster (18 points, 6 boards, 0 assists, a steal, a block), Jenkins (15 points, 0 assists), Wood (11 points, 0 assists, 2 blocks).
Oklahoma Cty stand at 13-20 and 8-7 at home after today's win. They hold at #3 in the Northwest and remain at #9 overall in the Western Conference. LA Clippers are now 21-12. They stay at #1 in the Pacific and hold at #3 overall in the Western Conference.
