CVBL: Dallas Surprises Houston
Dallas pulled off the 110-107 upset of Houston today, thanks to a mistake-filled game. "We stank," said losing coach Bob. "We beat them around like high-schoolers whenever we played like we usually do, but that wasn't often enough. There's just no excuse for that type of play. I suppose we just got overconfident; I mean Houston isn't exactly a top-notch team. But we sure stank it up out there."
Dallas coach Bob focused more on the positives. "Bob can say what he wants, but we really managed to knock them out of their usual plan. Would that have happened if they weren't playing anybody? He makes it sound like they gave the game away, but the truth is that we played with them the whole way and were in position to capitalize when our chances came."
Dallas was led by Garcia (30 points, 2 assists, a steal), Bernard (17 points, 6 boards, 3 assists, a steal, 2 blocks), Castro (9 points, a steal). Houston was led by James (24 points, 10 boards, 1 assists, 3 steals, 2 blocks), Howard (33 points, 1 assists, 2 steals), Uriegas (14 points, 12 boards, 0 assists, a block).
Dallas stand at 15-20 with this victory. They remain at #5 in the Southwest and stay at #11 overall in the Western Conference. With today's loss, Houston fall to 19-14 and 12-5 at home. They move down to #2 in the Southwest and drop to #5 overall in the Western Conference.
